Treatment


Numbing cream is applied first and takes 30 to 60 minutes to work. Each lesion is then treated individually, about 30 minutes for a full face. Plan on roughly an hour and a half in the office.

Results


Treated areas scab lightly and flake off over the following one to two weeks. Most patients see final results once healing is complete, with no further sessions needed.

  • Most are completely benign. That said, some skin cancers can resemble a harmless growth, which is why Dr. Kennedy examines each one before treating it rather than removing anything on appearance alone.

  • Treated spots scab and flake over one to two weeks, and the skin underneath is usually indistinguishable from the surrounding area. Temporary lightening or darkening can occur, more often in deeper skin tones, which is why technique and settings are adjusted for each patient.

  • Most patients need only one visit. Occasionally a stubborn lesion needs a second pass, and new growths can appear over time since the tendency to form them doesn't go away.

  • Removal for cosmetic reasons is not covered and is paid at the time of service. If a growth is irritated, bleeding, or otherwise symptomatic, it may be a medical visit instead. Dr. Kennedy will tell you which applies at your consultation.
